Folding chairs have been around for centuries and were most popular during the middle ages. Wood was the original material for these chairs which were used during the old days in various parts of the world such as ancient Egypt, Rome, Europe and Greece. During the 15th and 16th centuries, the folding chair grew even more popular and began to have arms and headrests in order to provide more comfort to its user. Since then, many variations of the chair have come up in the form of aluminum folding chairs, metal chairs and many more.
A high chair usually consists of a frame of molded plastic or metal tubing and an attached seat with a safety belt and a footrest. There are still a few old-fashioned wooden high chairs out there with a removable tray or arms that lift the tray over a baby's head, although they aren't always as comfortable for babies as the modern, form-fitting models on the market now, and most of them aren't certified as meeting the latest safety standards. You'll also find a few hybrid units, which can double as a swing or convert into other types of gear, such as a chair for an older child or a play table.
I'd loved the Aeron chairs for years. They are ergonomic, in multiple sizes to fit any stature, and made of recycled materials that could be recycled at the end of the chairs' long life, but the price kept me away. After listening to several of my friends rave about their Aeron chairs it was finally time for me to give in to comfort. Herman Miller makes Aeron, and have they put thought into their creation!
