There are many types of beds to choose from, and it is vital that you know which is best for your children's rooms. The basic beds are usually two simple twin sized beds, one on top of the other. Some beds come as a twin size mattress on top, and a single or double mattress on the bottom. Loft beds are usually single beds over a place to store books and toys, or some come with a single bed over a futon. Some beds even offer three tiers, and these are great if you have three children of similar age sharing a room.
If you are looking at turning a second room into a bedroom but don't have the space to take away, you don't have to just add onto the house, as building a second room is just going to be incredibly expensive and is an unneeded expense. These top three space saving beds are a great feature as you don't have to lose the space when you want to add the additional bedroom. This way, when someone comes over to visit you don't have to bring out the inflatable mattress or have them sleep on the floor. You just need to pull out the bed from the wall and there is instantly a sleep area for them. These beds are far more comfortable than sleeper mattresses in a couch or love seat as these are actually full sized beds with full sized mattresses, all of which provide more support than what you'd receive from the inflatable mattresses or the sleeper mattresses.
If you have the space, then full over full is best because each child has more room, and sleepovers are easier to organize. In fact, a twin over full takes up much the same room as a full over full, and the Classics 4.0 version of the latter comes at 84" long, by 60" deep and 79" high. This is part of Universal's Smartstuff Youth collection, and is available in white or saddle brown wood. Optional underbed storage units are also available.
